Younique Review (2021) – Scam or Legit? Read Now!

Hi and welcome to my review on Younique.

Maybe you were approached by someone who asked you to join this company or buy their products. So maybe now, you really want to know more about who they are, and what are they really all about? I’ve been approached by many MLM companies and have listened to their spiel. So I know what it feels like to be curious about a company like Younique. So, you’ve come to the right place to get all the answers before you make any decisions.

Today I’m going to give you an honest review of Younique. Who are they? Are they a scam? What products do they sell? What does their Compensation Plan look like? Is it for you, or should you look at other alternatives instead?  I hope you enjoy my Younique Review!

The Company – Younique

Younique is an MLM company that specializes in cosmetics, skin care, and fragrances. Their headquarters are in Lehi, UT, USA.

The company was founded in 2012 by a brother and sister team, Derek Maxfield and Melanie Huscroft.

The company’s stated mission is to “uplift, empower, and validate women across the globe. They claim they want to allow all women to feel valued and empowered, personally and financially, by marketing the Younique products, which are exclusively made for women.”

One thing that makes Younique different is how they approach promoting their products. They concentrate primarily on online social media platforms to distribute their products. This helps to open up their venue to have virtual parties too.

What is an MLM Company?

Multi-level marketing (MLM) is a business model in which individual representatives receive commissions for selling products. This can happen through a variety of methods, including direct sales, referrals, or word-of-mouth. However, representatives also receive financial compensation by having people in their downline who are also selling the company’s products.

When the downline members make a sale, the person who recruited them also makes money. This hierarchical commission model is dependent on both product sales and future sign-ups. MLM companies are notorious for overpriced marketing products. More than likely, this is because they have to pay their representatives commissions on top of what the company makes.

Younique Products – What do they sell?

They sell a wide range of cosmetics and skincare products. They also have some fragrances too. Their items are too numerous to mention here, but I’ve chosen some samples and pictured them below. I will mention that their YOU·OLOGY is a customized skincare system you create after taking a quiz. Apparently, they have over 40,000 possible combinations that can be created just for your skin. Anyway, here are some of their products…

Younique Compensation Plan

I couldn’t find much on their website regarding their compensation plan. However, I did find several videos being explained by affiliates, so I chose one that might be able to help do the explaining.

I do not endorse this video in any way. I have no affiliation with this company. This video is for educational purposes only.

What Other People are Saying about Younique

While doing research, I found many reviews regarding Younique with a variety of opinions about this company. You can view some of these reviews here pissedconsumers and consumerreviews. Here is also a YouTube video of someone talking about Younique. Here is someone who explains why she is not happy with the Company and why many of the people who are at the level of Black Status are leaving the company.

In 2014, they became accredited with the BBB, and they have an A+ rating. They also have many complaints listed with the BBB; however, complaints are not considered when determining its rating. It largely depends on how the complaints are handled when they cross the threshold, as it’s typical for any business to have some complaints against them.

Younique – Scam or Legit?

Let me say, No, Younique is not a scam. They do have actual products that they sell.

Companies like this are often called scams because people do not believe in the products or tried to make money with their business opportunities and failed to recruit anyone.

I understand the people who have a hard time recruiting. I’ve tried MLM companies before, several times. The recruiting, it’s just not for me, and it’s not for everyone.

One must also remember that there’s no substitute for hard work, consistency, and self-motivation for success with any business, especially an online business.

Final Thoughts

Essentially, as always, I leave the decision in your hands.

I think it takes a specific personality type to push this type of agenda, and you must have people in your downline if your goal is to make money. Now, I’m sure some people are very good at making money with this type of business model.

However, it is a very challenging business model to make money with. Additionally, your success with the MLM structure depends on your team members, who signed up under you.  Unless they are active and making sales, your earning potential is limited.

Bottom Line: To achieve success, you must be good at selling and have a strong team under you.

Plus, you have to like the products yourself. If you don’t, selling will feel forced and phony, and people can sniff that out.

This company also has a lot of complaints, and they’ve only been around since 2012. That’s really not very long in the MLM world. It’s just something to keep in mind when making your decision. If customers aren’t happy, obviously that will affect your income.

One must also remember that there’s no substitute for hard work, consistency, and self-motivation for success with any business, especially an online business.
