Maybe you were approached by someone who asked you to join this company or buy their products. Maybe now, you really want to know more about who they are and what they are really all about? Well, you’ve come to the right place to get all the answers before you make any decisions.
Today I’m going to give you an honest review of Monat. Who are they? Are they a scam? What does their Compensation Plan look like? Is it for you, or should you look at other alternatives instead? I hope you enjoy my Review on Monat!
Who Is Monat?- The Company
The Company, Monat, was founded in 2014 under the parent company Alcora Corporation. It began with father and son Luis and Ray Urdaneta (even though other family members also work for the Company). Their main headquarters is located in Florida, USA.
The items they sell include hair care, skincare, and wellness products.
They are a multi-level marketing business, so they also provide an opportunity for those interested in earning a side income, whether full or part-time. We will take a look at the company’s compensation plan and their previous income disclosure statement to see just how possible it is to make extra income with this company,

Monat Lawsuits and Reviews
The FDA has investigated Monat on numerous occasions regarding their products causing hair loss. Here is one example: FDA inspection of Monats Facility This sounds like a pretty serious allegation wouldn’t you agree?
There are several class-action lawsuits regarding Monats products filed against the Company. In addition, they have numerous complaints, as well.

At the time of this writing, the Better Business Bureau has had over 500 complaints within the past 3 yrs.
I don’t know how anyone can confidently or ethically sell products to the general public that has the potential to do-harm. Not to mention, the direct correlation that the public perception has toward the Company and their products has a direct impact on your bottom dollar or regarding how much money you are capable of making.
What Is An MLM Company?
Multi-level marketing (MLM) is a business model in which individual representatives receive commissions for selling products. This can happen through a variety of methods, including direct sales, referrals, or word-of-mouth. However, representatives also receive financial compensation by having people in their downline also sell their products.
When the downline members make a sale, the person who recruited them also makes money. This hierarchical commission model is dependent on both product sales and future sign-ups.
MLM companies are notorious for overpriced marketing products. More than likely, they have to pay their representatives commissions on top of what the company makes.
What Does Their Compensation Plan Look Like?
Their compensation plan is like most MLM companies. You get paid commissions when you refer people to the business or sell products to others directly. They also offer bonuses if you meet various goals. This actually isn’t any different from other MLM companies.
However, Instead of detailing their compensation plan, I found a great video on YouTube that explains it for you.
This video is biased as the compensation plan is being discussed by someone who works for the company. Here is also a copy of their Compensation plan in pdf format for those who would rather view an actual document.
Monat – Low Income Potential
It isn’t easy to reach the top layers in any MLM company, and at Monat, it doesn’t appear any different. There is only 1% of independent distributors who reach the top level within most MLM companies. Most individuals who join MLM’s stay at the bottom tier and never earn any real money. Here’s a copy of their Earning Statement, which indicates how low the average earner actually makes.
Monat – Scam Or Legit?
Let me say, No, I do not believe Monat is a scam. They have been around since 2014, and they have actual products they sell. However, just because they are a legitimate business does not mean you should rush into business with them.
I do believe a specific personality type fits this business model, however; it is a very challenging business model to make money with. Additionally, your success with the MLM structure depends on your team members, who signed up under you. Unless they are active and making sales, your earning potential is limited. To achieve success, you must be good at selling and have a strong team under you.
One must also remember that there’s no substitute for hard work, consistency, and self-motivation when it comes to success with any business, especially an online business.
Okay, now that I’ve said that, I don’t recommend getting involved with this particular MLM company. Here’s why…
They have only been around since 2014, and in the world of MLM’s, that really isn’t a very long time. Also, within that time frame, the Company has had numerous lawsuits and customer complaints. So this Company has not proven itself and is not someone I would feel comfortable investing my money in or recommending anyone else do so, either.
Final Thoughts
Essentially, as always, I leave the decision in your hands. Although I don’t know about you, the multi-level marketing aspect of trying to convince people to join my “team” has always been off-putting to me. I think it takes a particular personality type to push this type of agenda, and you must have people in your downline if your goal is to make money.
